OUR COMPANY


Salentein was established in Argentina under the name of Salentein Argentina in 1992, in Uruguay under the name of Gran Pedro in 2003 and in Australia under the name of GP Cattle in 2006.

Salentein comprises four business units:
Farming, which compiles the cattle activities in Argentina, Uruguay and Australia.
Premium Beef.
MP Wines, with three wineries in Argentina and operations worldwide.
Hospitality is the fourth business unit.

Salentein develops a great variety of products supplying both domestic and foreign markets, expanding constantly towards new areas.

1992

Purchase first Estancias in Entre Ríos with continuous extensions during 1993-2010 in Corrientes. Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires.

1995

Purchase first Fincas (fruit and grapes) in Mendoza.

1995

1998

Start fruit business. 3 packing and cooling plants were constructed in the following years up to 2004.

1999

Construction first Bodega (Salentein) in Mendoza; first harvest year. Start Sales Organisations Wine and Fruit (Domestic+Export).

2002

Enlargement beef farms. Start 2nd Bodega (Callia) in San Juan.

2003

Purchase of farms in Uruguay (Rincón del Queguay, San Ramón and Vimal). Start direct Sales Organisation Wine in Europe.

Construction 3rd Bodega (Portillo) in Mendoza. Further enlargement of Grape Fincas.

2006

Start Agriculture (commercial crops in rented farms) Business Unit in Argentina. Opening KILLKA (museum, galery, visiting & business centre) in Uco Valley. Purchase of farms in Australia (Cotswold and Portland).

Start Agriculture (commercial crops in rented farms) Business Unit in Uruguay. Investment in 300 ha irrigation technology (pivot) for seed production of commercial crops in BA Province. Wine sales record: more than 10 million premium wine bottles sold.

Extension of Bodega Callia and development of new cool-climate grape production area in Pedernal, San Juan.

Enlargement La Posada from 8 to 16 rooms with renovated restaurant.

2011

Agreement with CIALE (specialized in artificial insemination) on the development of cattle genetics.

2012

First shipment to The Netherlands of specialty crops (non-GMO flint maize). Divestment of Fruit Business. 

2012

2013

Launch MP Wines new company name and concept. Record of annual wine exports: 640.000 cases (9l), representing USD 24 millions. Start of Salentein packed beef exports. Set up of sales organization in Asia for MP Wines.
